There are many PD workshops currently available in district including CPR, Framework for Poverty, and Disabilities in the Classroom. Anyone presenting a workshop that qualifies for PD hours needs to contact Linda Saraceno to request certificates.

· Please check out your NJEA website for new professional development opportunities. Some workshops are cheap, but many are free. You might like to try a free webinar, which you can do at homer PD hours accumulated prior to August 31 will not count toward the new school year. Summer work will be credited to the previous year unlike in the past.
Regardless of when you started; whether you've taken a leave; or transferred from another district, everyone will begin a new year with zero hours. September 2010 starts a new 5 year cycle.
· District-wide, teachers will be involved with Professional Learning Communities starting in October. This will be a great way for everyone to earn job-embedded professional development hours.
· Please be aware that in every building, you now have Professional Development Representatives. If you have a question, please see a member of the building team, or contact a member of the LPDC.
