Word of Caution

  • Whenever yo use any cleaning agent on school property, you must be sure thait is Board approved. This is especially true if students or staff are present.
  • Always read the warning labels and take proper precatutions such as having a room well ventilated.

Want to know what doctors are contracted with Direct Access; want to know if a claim has been processed?  Then log onto https://members.horizon-bcbsnj.com/signOn.htm If you want to  know if a doctor accepst Direct Access you must specifically as if they are "contracted" with direct Access.

Health Insurance Concerns
If you have concerns about copayments/ coverage with the current Direct Access plan as opposed to what to you had with your previous plan, you need to contact Marie at Brown & Brown. You are still covered by the terms of your previous coverage until the end of our current contract. The Board of Ed is obligated to "make whole" on the expenses that you are now incurring but you would not have incurred under your previous plan.
Brown & Brown Benefits Advisors are repre-sentatives for our health insurance. They are there to answer questions or get us help with our medical coverage. You can call Maria at 800-811-4122 x14. Any health matters that you discuss with her are protected by HIPAA laws; your information will remain confidential.

Health Benefits for adult children
If you have a child that is 23 or over, that is no longer a full time student, and is not cover by health insurance with their present employer, or another policy, you may qualify to have them reinstated on your policy. Speak with Donna Roberts at the Board Office for more clarification.
NJEA remains steadfast in its opposition
to any excise tax.
We continue to urge you to contact your representatives and tell them that ANY federal excise tax will amount to a tax increase for middle class workers and their families.
Here’s what you can do:
  • Call your senators and tell them to oppose any measure that contains an excise tax:

  • Call your congressman and tell him to oppose any measure that contains an excise tax. If you need help identifying your congressman, go to njea.org to find that information.
  • You'd be surprised how many people don't remember to submit their prescription to Blue Cross Blue Shield for reimbursement.  Once you have reached your deductible, 80% of your prescription cost are covered by our contract. If your prescription cost is $15, you should be reimbursed $12 after your deductible has been met. You can submit your claims as they occur; monthly; or yearly...It's entirely up to you.
