Message From Your President
Thanks to all who attended the general membership meeting on March 16, at the High School. Marie Blistan, NJEA Secretary/Treasurer, explained the political background which has lead to today's climate and encouraged all to be involved in order to safeguard our profession.
Once again the High School Drama Club did a fabulous, and extremely hilarious production of Hairspray. MTEA PRIDE money was used to help defray the cost of the handmade scenery. A framed signed playbill poster was presented to the association by Sara Thiffault in appreciation for the MTEA support.
MTEA membership has ratified the revised MTEA Constitution/By-Laws. Thank you to everyone on that committee that devoted numerous hours, and valuable input to the revisions in our Constitution/By-Laws.
Various positions on the Executive Board will soon be up for a vote. The nomination process includes not only self-nominations, but now, any active member may nominate someone. Elections will take place in April on a date to be forthcoming.
Anyone with questions regarding the changes in our Health Insurance should continue to contact Brown and Brown Benefit Advisors. UniServ and NJEA are currently doing a comparison study on our current and proposed plans. Members have also requested another meeting which will be announced.
Spring has arrived! Enjoy the season!
Yours in advocacy,
Aggie
