Message From Your PresidentDear Colleagues,
What a tumultuous year! Between a plethora of new initiatives, unprecedented snowstorms with record snow amounts, ratifying a contract, the election of Governor Christie and a defeated school budget, our membership have endured a roller coaster ride, but have survived.
Thank you again to all who participated in the Trenton Rally on May 22, 2010.
Christie's administration announced that it will Not be filing legislation that might have caused some NJEA members to consider premature retirement this summer.
Annually, the MTEA philanthropic fund awards scholarships to our district's graduates. This year $9000 was raised through the generosity of the teachers, secretaries, paraprofessionals and K & K Vending company. congratulations to the class of 2010!
In August, several MTEA members will attend summer Leadership in New Brunswick.
Best wishes are extended to our retirees. enjoy your duly earned retirement!
Have a wonderful, restful and safe summer!
As always, continue to visit the NJEA website, njea.org, to stay informed of current news from Trenton.
Yours in advocacy,
Aggie
